As you know I am very fond of true crime podcast, tv shows and specially documentaries, also know as docuseries (I do not if this is a spanish word or english one), In any case I´ve seen a lot of them. And from time to time I search for new material. Some weekd ago I came across with one tweet about most riveting or shocking documentaries of this kind. The guy named some of the classic ones, such as Dear Zachary... or the Jinx ( wich I recently watched with Laura (my partner) or The Stair, all of them top ones, but there was one I did not know about.
I would say that I had heard about it but I did not pay attention to it. This one is Abducted in plain sight and I would day that at least is as good as Dear Zachary mainly because it provokes the same kinf of reactions kind of.....how is it possible? or are we talking about "normal" people?...
As same as with Dear Zachary it is better not to talk about it, because is much better to face it without no data about the plot, so if you trust me, go and watch it. But maybe you need more details and thus I practise my english and my typing...

Let's talk about it..
The story is shocking , 70' I think, EEUU (I will talk later about my opinion about why this only could happen in EEUU). Two families living in the same neighbour. The father of one of the families starts to get very fond of one of the other family daughter. At the beginning it does not sound worng or strange or even weird. Both families get along very well, they do thngs together, the boys are friends and so on... but little by little the relation became in something weird (from the viewer's point of view) because parents do not do anything to avoid it.
Obiously there are clues and really strange situations (for example a sexual affair between the fathers of both families which is quite revealing of the "power " of the main character at the time of convincing and cheating.
Suddenly the girl and the guy disapear por some days taking advantage of a trip to visit a theme park. They travel alone just the two of them, despite the guy has children and familiy, and thus the familiy has doubts (they start to feel un comfortable with the realtioship) they travel.
Problem is that they do not come back.
No news about them for a long period. It takes a while until they decide to report the event to the authorities.
They are found and the guy arrested.
During the documentary the familiy members are interviewed, even the girl. And is really shocking to listen to them talking about everything. There are sexual abuse of course. The guy used to give drugs to the girl.
The point is that the girl build up a kind of stockholm sindrome, so even with the guy in jail, she wants to see him and to have contact to him.
The guy is released from prison and come back to the neighborhood where they keep living as if nothing had happened. This, the way they accept all the events, is one of the most shocking and disturbing of everything and shows the incredibly power of the criminal over his family and over the victim family.
Amazing.
I do not want to reveal more things about the story but just to say that there is another aduction more, which is once more difficult to believe.
Higly recommend. I am going to watch it again, as soon as I can.
